Generous business owners in downtown New Cumberland, Pennsylvania again donated use of their parking lots to the Zonta Club of Harrisburg-Hershey for one of the best fundraisers of our membership year. The weather didn't cooperate this year, unfortunately, but we hope to continue with very successful wreath sales and other fundraising events to allow us to support local programs through our Service Grants program.
Thanks to our volunteers and the folks who chose to park with us for their donation of time and money! Hope to see you next year!
The 26th Annual New Cumberland Apple Festival was scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011 but cancelled shortly before due to conditions resulting from the record flooding that occurred during September.
For $5.00, visitors parked very close to the festivities for as long as necessary while supporting our efforts to improve the quality of life for women and children both globally and locally.
Member and New Cumberland business owner Diana Laughner, along with Kay Rittenhouse and Gary Bernardi, long-time supporters of Zonta, worked with area business owners to arrange the lots. We were most visible on the corner of Front and Bridge streets at the New Cumberland Car Wash.
